Continuing a virtual tour of some of my altar tools, this particular object, known as witch bells or witches bells, is used for purifying space by banishing negative energy and attracting positive energy.

While I do have more practical witch bells hanging on doorknobs in our house, I wanted something a little more dressed up for using for ritual work. When I want to purify my work space or rooms using sound (I usually do a combination of sound and smoke cleansing), this is what I use. I keep these hanging on the wall at my altar.

Because so much of my inspiration and personal energy is plant based, the tree symbol resonates with me and often is featured in the jewelry I wear and objects I collect. Quartz is centered in the ring and several bells included for a clean, clear sound.

Quartz is quite the power-house of a crystal. It is known for having high vibrations, attracting positive energy and repelling negative energy. Quartz is also known to amplify energy – in crystal grids it can amplify the energy of other crystals, and for this tool, it can amplify the positive energy from the bells.
